Frequently asked questions
Is this a static or dynamic QR code?
This generates a static QR code — the content is encoded directly into the code itself and works forever with no account needed. It cannot be edited or tracked after creation. For a link you may need to update later, point it at a URL you control (like a redirect you manage) rather than the final destination.
Will adding a logo make the QR code harder to scan?
A small centered logo is safe — the generator automatically switches to the QR standard's highest error-correction level whenever a logo is present, so scanners can still read the code even with part of it covered. Keep the logo simple and no larger than the default size for best reliability.
Can I use light colors or a light background?
For reliable scanning, keep strong contrast between the foreground and background colors — a light foreground on a light background may fail to scan even though it displays fine on screen. Dark-on-light (or the reverse) works best.
What image formats can I use for the logo?
Any common image format (PNG, JPG, SVG rendered as an image, WebP) works. A PNG with a transparent background usually looks cleanest at the center of the code.
Which QR type should I pick for a menu or product page?
Use "Website / Link" and point it at the page URL. Use "Contact card" for a personal or business card, "WiFi" for guest network access, and "Event" for anything that should be added to a calendar app.
One QR code generator for every use case
Why use one generator instead of nine
Rather than hunting for a separate tool per format, pick the type here and the right fields appear automatically — a website link, an email, a call button, an SMS, a WhatsApp chat, a WiFi network, a contact card, or a calendar event. The output is the same standards-based QR code either way.
Dedicated tools for a single format
If you only ever need one type and want a simpler, bookmark-friendly page, Utinzo also has focused generators for WhatsApp, WiFi, vCards, email, SMS, phone calls, and events — this all-in-one tool is for when you need to switch between formats often.
Static vs. dynamic QR codes
This tool produces static codes: the destination is baked in permanently and never expires, with no sign-up or ongoing service required. Dynamic QR codes (editable destination, scan analytics) need a service that keeps a live redirect running behind the code — useful for print runs where the target might change, but unnecessary for most one-off uses.
